Narva Central Library

Partnership

History of Narva Library dates back to 1897, when the first Library-Reading room was opened in Narva. The current Library building, opened in 1987, has made it's mark on Estonian Library history by being the first to be built especially for a public library. Currently the library collections hold 433 752 records and we have around 13 000 readers.
The library has two branch libraries and a small lending station in the Narva House of Children's Creativity.
The mission of the library is to preserve our unique cultural values, inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and promote the development of our city. We do so by providing tools and resources, answering our patrons questions and helping in research. We also carry out different events for adults and children. Traditionally our events are free of charge and connected to the library's book collection.
